Hey There! I’m sure many of you have seen the Himalayan Salt Lamp trend that has taken over retail stores over the past few years (unless you live under a rock, not there’s anything wrong with that, hey to each their own right?) Anyway, did you also know there are Selenite Lamps too? I’ll be honest, until Marco brought some into the store, I had no idea they existed, but I really wish I did. So I thought why not talk about each lamp, their properties and help all of you wonderful readers figure out which is best suited for you. First things first, both lamps are absolutely gorgeous and if not anything else, will add an eclectic element to your traditional decor. Selenite is a stone that we have mentioned before in other blog posts. We often use it for gridding purposes or to charge other crystals, however there are also many other benefits to owning a Selenite lamp. These beauties emit a soft white glow that is super relaxing! It is a stone that is known to possess calming properties which is great for anyone who meditates. (Marco is great at Meditating, me not so much, I have tried countless guided meditations and have fallen asleep through all of them. Oops) So if you are someone that can meditate, this is definitely a great choice for you. Having a large piece of Selenite in you home such as the selenite lamp can also help keep a peaceful atmosphere within your home, and I don’t know about you but around this time of year, that sounds perfect. Not only will Selenite keep your home calm, it can also offer mental clarity, helping with judgement and insight. I think I need like 5 of these lamps. Honestly, the more I write these crystal blogs, the more I find out I need ALL the crystals. Anyway, let's get back on track. Himalayan Salt lamps emit warm red/orangish glow, which I have to say I find really calming. The Salt Lamps attract and absorb pollutants in surrounding air, (like dust) making it a natural air purifier (If you have any allergies this is great for you) Himalayan Salt Lamps also produce negative ions (I know that doesn’t sound good, but I promise it is) Having more negative ions in an environment helps boost your mood, helps with sleep, can help relieve the symptoms of asthma and can help boost your immunity. So the question is, which lamp is right for you? Well that depends on what benefits you are looking for. If you have allergies, need a mood boost, or have trouble sleeping then the Salt Lamp would seem like the perfect fit. If you are looking from protection against negativity and an overall calming energy then Selenite would be the best choice. If you still have a hard time picking which lamp is best for you, don’t worry we carry both in store.
